I'm looking for someone who is knitting their own wedding dress, or even having a knit-themed wedding. If that's you or you know someone who is, please let me know! Thank you,

I just (re)married last year and I feel your pain. Not only was I a 47-year-old bride but this is my second marriage to my DH's first - so, we had to do it up in style. I fould a lovely sleek, ample dress with a simple lace coat. What a find!!!

Ditto the request to see you Aunt's dress.

Be well and be joyous!!!

OK. I've been browsing your blog, love both dogs, and the summer sweater (I came by way of AK) but now I have to ask if we can see a picture of Great Aunt Frances's wedding dress...with TRAIN? My Gram knit her own suits in the 30's - awesome.

What a wonderful blog. I'd love to learn knitting if only I had thumbs. I do know a place to get the raw materials however. Let me know and I will put a good word in for you at "the barking lot."

L.G., I love that idea!

Actually our Great Aunt Frances, who was a wildly talented knitter, knitted her own wedding dress back in the 1920s. No kidding! We still have it in the family and I have seen it with my own eyes. Aunt Frances's knitted dress even had a knitted train.

But did she carry a bouquet of knitting needles? I'm afraid that detail is lost to time...

Great blog!

Category 1 dresses run the risk of sameness, but I agree there is no alternative, unless you want to look like your wedding cake. Perhaps you should just knit yourself an entire dress. Shoes, veil, everything. Carry knitting needles instead of a bouquet. Go crazy!

Well, it probably won't be too encouraging to you to know that just within the past few months I have frogged two shawls that were more than half finished. (This is not counting other shawls I have frogged at other times.) I seem to suffer from a terminal lack of shawl commitment. They always seem like a good idea when I start out....
