I have to say, I would truly never have thought of that! If it makes you feel any better, Shelley hasn't grown much undercoat yet herself. I think she's waiting to see if it really is going to get cold again or if last year was just an unfortunate aberration. That's what I get for raising her in California for most of her life... I think it has given her unrealistic expectations for weather conditions, and a thinner coat!
