I vote for Deb's because I like the subtle leaf pattern in the ribbing, but also the colour is gorgeous! It highlights what I love about autumn the bright cheerful orange of the leaves.
Also Deb's is more wearable and though I love Diane's sweater (its cozy autumny good for a cup of tea) and it's handspun which is just so fitting for an autumn sweater...Um.

Oh wait. I just talked myself out of my vote. Um...I vote Deb I think...because the idea is a bit more original. I mean, Diane's is lovely and beautiful and a perfectly executed take on an old favourite...

But if you say knit a sweater with an autumn leaf motif that's what pops to mind...not the on Deb knit...and I like that originality. It's a bit impractical for a northern autumn, but it's beautiful and leafy and fresh and I love that about it.

Autumn is my favourite season and I think it's a great way to highlight it's best bits. :)

I vote for Deb.

Geez, who can choose? I am a sucker for anything with leaves. I would use the ribbing from Deb's on something that would suit my shape better and I would use the leafy colorwork on socks or a vest, since I don't wear pullovers (too warm!). So in my eyes it is a (beautiful) photo finish! - Karen

I'm going to remove myself from the voting, but I think both are lovely, for completely different reasons.

Luckily, Sarah's handspun prizes are all so swell that there's hardly any difference between first and second.

I also vote for Dianne's sweater, for mostly reasons already mentioned. But also because that leaf motif reminds me of one that I was planning to adapt to socks. It may even be the very same one, from Alice Starmore's book of pattern sources. Who knows? But it looks familiar, and the sweater looks cozy. And I love the sleeves.

But it's good that there are two prizes!

It's apples and oranges really, but I would settle on Diane's because the contrast of the handpainted yarn with the plain brown works so well, a new twist on a very familiar idea.

Both are gorgeous! I'm voting for Deb's, because I particularly like that leaf-ribbing idea.

I have just found your blog this week. You sisters are excellent writers, and may I add, hilarious as well. I enjoy your knitting photos and I am trying to go back and catch up to things before I found your blog. Thanks for this enjoyable read.

Both are beautiful. I can see why you'd have a hard time deciding! I think I'll vote for Deb's too. It's simple, elegant and sexy. And I emailed you my sad, belated attempt (when compared to these wonderful entries).
