Love the tree hunt. And that bathroom decoration is kin to the crocheted toilet paper cover dollies of yore that one would find in one's grandmother's bathroom. The creep factor was doubled because the doll was on the toilet tank--you had to turn your back to it. Now I'm going to have Bride of Chucky nightmares.

WTF is that creepy doll's head thing? Some people shouldn't be allowed near Michael's and glue guns should be limited to those who exhibit some degree of taste and decorum.

We too ventured out for a real tree. And in honor of our new home we choose a behemoth. The bad thing was that once home and placed in the stand nobody wanted to decorate it. My husband flew off to Vegas for a work-related meeting and my girls became bored after hanging 5 decorations. As a result we have a somewhat "natural" looking large tree in our living room. Ho ho ho.

The pink scarf is very pretty and it looks delightfully soft.

What fun to see what you've knit with the pink yarn, Sarah! I had already forgotten all about it, so it's a surprise all over, but for me this time. The scarf looks lovely!

Ok, that bathroom thing disturbingly reminds me of a scene from the movie Videodrome. Which, I hasten to add, was more my husband's kind of movie, and is seriously creepy. I'd've gathered my courage and snuck off to use the men's bathroom so I wouldn't have it staring at me! LOL.

Very cool on the tree day report; brought back lovely memories. Great pix, and I'm firmly with you guys. A real tree is always the best! And even if he'd been cooperative, you wouldn't have needed to sacrifice Rob to find out if the fence was electrified. For his sake in future [g], just find a fence pole. If it has a ceramic insulater thingamajobby attaching the wire to the pole, then oh yeah. It's electric. After living on a farm, frankly, I'm deeply suspicious of *any* line of smooth wire innocently strung about. Those zaps won't kill ya, but they hurt! Although-- Pardon me, I just remembered a funny electrified fence story I have to tell in a post sometime in future. [veg] Gotta go write myself a note... Happy gift progression and tree-decorating!

Sarah,
Was that bathroom thing supposed to be ornamental? It was surely not useful, was it? For some reason, I found it really distressing. I sort of expected to see the rest of her hanging down below the towel. As Harvey once said, "It's pretty tweepy, Mimi."

The tree looks fabulous! I wish I could have been part of the hunt; it looks like you guys had fun.

But that, um, THING in the bathroom? I'm hard pressed to think of any pre-existing and legitimate aesthetic that THAT could fit into...

More to the point, I really enjoyed this post. Thanks for including us in your Saturday activities!
