Kudos to Shelly for her hard work getting you and Alex back on your feet; she deserves that steak dinner! Love the Seven Pillows! Wish I'd heard them before my "exploding toilet" episode; which is now thankfully behind us. Now, get back to knitting, girl!

Madly blooming flowers during uncertain spring weather, check. (Ok, so ours bloom more than 4 days. [g] Beautiful pix, thanks for posting - and good grief, woman, I hope you sat down and rested frequently!)
Unconscionably infrequent buses on Sunday, check. (Every hour. Oh, the excitement. I really hate Sunday schedules. On the other hand, this affords time for sitting down and resting when recuperating from illness.)
Natives with habit of spending spare time in nearest bookstore, check. (A good place to sit down and rest while waiting for infrequent Sunday buses when recuperating. Although I gotta agree with you on the self-help book thing. What on earth is the attraction of those suckers, anyway?)

Y'know, despite that flip of a coin that made us Portland instead of Boston, OR, that's three out of three characteristics that are a perfect match between us and Asa Lovejoy's hometown. I wonder how well we actually compare to the other Portland? (I love your Seven Pillars. Although y'know, seven pillows certainly serve well to prop you up in exceeding comfort when resting in bed for further recuperation after that first wobbly re-entry into the greater world.) Glad to see evidence you're over the worst! [g]

Hey, I'll do anything for a mention on the blog -- first knitsisters.com, next Page 6. The E. Bales words of wisdom are icing on the cake. Ellen, any interest in a full-time job running my life?

Great to see you both (looking, I might add, impressively lively for the week you've had!)

You do sound like you're on the way to being back on your feet again. I'm sure we have Shelley to thank for that.

Our flowering trees are just starting to show a bit of color on the buds, so maybe I'll have some pretty pictures from the recently frozen lands to the west of you (aka western New York).
