Sarah, question for you: can you explain to me the mystery (/marvel) that is children's response to anything chanted?? Last fall I was introduced to the astonishing power of "1-2-3, eyes on me/1-2, eyes on you" to stop a horde of maniacal little darlings in its tracks -- but I still can't quite wrap my head around what exactly is so compelling. But clearly it's incredibly effective (even in alternate form - I saw another teacher who would belt out Buffalo Springfield to her class: "Stop children, what's that sound?" And they'd all come to a screeching halt to sing back, "Everybody look what's going down!")

I love that hemp dishcloth.

How did you like working with hemp? We've got some cool kits at the shop, but I'm a little leery of something that looks so much like string.

Love seeing all that you are knitting. It's also comforting to know that I am not the only one who's couch is being slowly taken over with knitting stuff. Your blog is great! I get to show my husband that I am not totally over the edge - that there are others in the world who will be with me in the old age home sharing our stash, needles and dreams of creations to come.

1. Thank you! I'm so looking forward to seeing the Cone of Wonder in person :)

2. I saw a dishcloth very much like that at our local health food store for $18. I'm pretty sure I snorted when I saw the price.

3. A friend warned me that she's had two friends have their Schafer Anne yarn shrink on them when they washed it. Try washing your swatch just to be safe!
