Oh how I can relate to Shelly! Buying balls and skeins of yarn is like finding apples on the ground. I don't know what I'm going to do with them, so I just buy them and bury them in boxes and baskets and bags all over my house. Since this recent addiction began last January, I have filled one laundry basket, two storage boxes and two very large baskets with yarn. At least during the same time I have knitted 3 socks, two sweaters, 2 hats, 3 scarves, and a vest, plus innumerable baby hat & bootie sets for charity. I am surprised I have not found a ball of yarn buried in my sofa, like Shelly's apple. Minnie is beyond my ability, and practically beyond my imagination, not to mention ripping out an entire sleeve. How I admire you! (For your writing talents first, and then for your knitting!!)

Lovely job on Minnie. I hesitate to mention it, only because my projects are rarely completed on time, but . . . . wasn't Minnie supposed to be wedding wear? Just asking, is all. Oh, you think Shelly's been busy burying apples? Check out what Andy's been up to with his biscuits!

Lately I've been pondering - meditating - on the true reason/meaning of our passion (addiction/empty well) i.e. knitting. I began a really yummy shawl - alpaca yarn - soft - large - comfy - perfect for sitting in front of the fire on a cold winter day with hot chocolate laden with marshmallows and visions of being wrapped in warmth. The pattern said - begin with 1 stitch - end up with 402. OK - so I'm up to 247 stitches and at about 100 stitches - I begin to look at this creation and think - hmmmmm - at 247 stitches - I'm thinking hmmmm this doesn't look right. I pick up the pattern, read EVERY word - oh - I missed the word EVERY!!!! Increase one stitch at each end of the row at EVERY row. Trust me increasing every other row does not a lovely shaped shawl make.

The name is indeed Bond....ridipt...Bond...ridipt...why do I knit...ridipt...danger? thrills? excitement?...ridipt...indeed...just picking up the needles leads to...ridipt...
