Okay at this point we are all wondering if two of you and your families have survived Christmas and New Years.

Yeah we used to get ice storms when I lived in AL and they are rough. We were without power in one storm for 3 whole days. We were starting to get kind of cold in the house and wondered where we going to sleep on the 4th day, but they came around with a truck and got us turned back on. Did they tree cause any damage to the roof? I certainly hope not.

This is one of those things that doesn't happen much around my part of the world - our snow sublimates in the sky because it's so cold and dry.

Looks like that poor ol' tree needs a pruning. The section going out to the right from the base of your trunk could break off later and do the same thing as the left side! Anything coming out at a steep angle like that could have dire consequences, as I have learned in the past. Hope your roof's still in one piece.

Oh goodness, Sarah! We missed most of it here, but a friend of mine in Jefferson City was without power for about five days. I hope, hope, hope, that the tree on your roof didn't cause as much damage as it looks like it might!

Ice storms sure are difficult to deal with; however beautiful they may be. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the roof damage is minimal and your electric either stays on or comes back on shortly!

Well, we have a lot of snow, but, um...you win.

Our roof is leaking a bit from the snow and ice up there (that's a whole other story), but a tree on the roof...well, we ain't got that!

Merry, merry Christmas to you and Harvey!
